Vietnam President To Lam will visit India from May 5–7 for high-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu. The visit marks a decade of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and aims to deepen bilateral, regional, and global cooperation.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this marks President To Lam’s first State Visit to India since assuming office in April this year. The visit is expected to carry significant diplomatic weight as both nations seek to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.
On May 6, President To Lam will receive a ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan. He will then engage in comprehensive discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, covering the full spectrum of bilateral relations as well as key regional and global issues of mutual interest.
President Droupadi Murmu is also scheduled to hold a formal meeting with President To Lam. In addition, several other Indian dignitaries are expected to call on the visiting leader during his stay.
Beyond official engagements in New Delhi, President To Lam will travel to Bodh Gaya and Mumbai, reflecting the cultural and economic dimensions of the visit.
India and Vietnam share longstanding historical and civilizational ties that have strengthened steadily over the years. The visit holds added significance as it coincides with the 10th anniversary of the elevation of bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The high-level engagement is expected to inject fresh momentum into the partnership and unlock new avenues for cooperation across strategic, economic, and cultural domains.
